Beginner lessons are for:

  • absolute beginners
  • previous players who want to pick up the game after a time of inactivity
  • social players who want to learn a modern bidding system
  • anyone who wants an intellectually stimulating, fun social activity they can enjoy for a lifetime!

Course Details:

Length: 6 weeks of classes + 2 Free Bonus Weeks . 7- 9 pm, Thursdays, Sept. 25 - Nov. 13, 2008
       
Cost: $60 per person and $11.95 for the textbook. Total cost: $71.95.

Weeks 1-6:   

  • The Basics - Hand Valuation, Declarer's Plan, Declarer Play, Defense
  • No Trump Opening Bids - Responses, Rebids, Declarer Play
  • Major Suit Opening Bids - Responses, Rebids, Declarer Play
  • Minor Suit Opening Bids - Responses, Rebids, Declarer Play, Defense
Bonus Weeks 7-8:    
  • Practice Deals - Reviewing What We've Learned.
  • Additional Resources - We'll also go over additional learning resources as well as some of the internet bridge sites so you can find a convenient way to play any time.
The text book is included in the lesson price.

No partner necessary. We'll have plenty of partners for you to play with!

Place: The Fountains at Canterbury located south of NW 122 Street, between Pennsylvania and Western. The street address is 1404 NW 122 St., Oklahoma City, OK 73114.

Directions: Turn south off 122nd, 8/10 of a mile east of Pennsylvania on Reynolds Drive into the Canterbury complex. (This is immediately East of the Heritage Hall School entrance.) Go past the first street on the right; then past the parking lot on the right; finally taking a right loop to the 5-story Town Center Apartments building. The Commons Room is on the first floor. Map
